Thank you for taking the time to learn about my psychotherapy practice. Most people want to have a sense of who a potential counselor is and what they are like before entering into therapy. My hope is that this site will help you in that process.
I work with people going through a wide variety of stresses. They may be the result of coping with ongoing anxiety or depression; recovering from abuse or trauma; and change or loss in an important relationship. The changes may come from marital conflict, divorce, death of a loved one, or work conflicts. Sometimes we're not even sure why we don't feel good, but it's apparent that we need help figuring it out.
I seek to identify not only a client's personal strengths, but also the challenges that perpetuate difficulties in their life. Together, my clients and I look at their family of origin as well as their current life situation.
Therapy is always an emotional investment as well as a financical one. But it can be worth it when you gain greater insight into what is causing you difficulty or pain in life and learn new ways to be in relationship with yourself and others.
If you have additional questions or concerns I am happy to talk with you on the phone before you make an appointment.
